Bible elective classes in the public schools are an opportunity for students to have a viewpoint neutral, foundational study – at no cost to taxpayers – of one of the cornerstone texts of world history, which helps students become culturally literate and better equipped to thrive and contribute to a global world.

"Bible class has made me more confident in myself, so I can now speak in front of a class without fear."

IMPACT STORIES

MEASURABLE IMPACT

"We very much appreciate the support we receive from Bible in the Schools that provides an elective course opportunity for many of our students in grades 6-12. Thanks to the generosity of the group and its supporters, our unique partnership has been in place for 100 years, and we look forward to continuing our joint work to serve Hamilton County students in the future."

  – Dr. Justin Robertson, Superintendent, Hamilton County Schools

IS IT LEGAL?

Yes. In 1963, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled:  It certainly may be said that the Bible is worthy of study for its literary and historic qualities. Nothing we have said here indicates that such study of the Bible or of religion, when presented objectively as part of a secular program of education, may not be effected consistently with the First Amendment.
