Since 1922 with little publicity or fanfare, Bible in the Schools has made the study of the Bible available to public school students in the Chattanooga area.

The Hamilton County public school system offers five elective courses in Bible history. All classes strictly follow federal court rulings and guidelines.

This past school year, nineteen middle and high schools offered the elective courses to more than 4,300 students, who were taught by sixteen qualified and certified teachers.

June 25, 2008 - Governor Bredesen has signed into law the "Bible in School Act."

May 27, 2008 - The Tennessee Legislature has approved the "Bible in School Act." It is now awaiting Gov. Bredesen's signature.
