"In an ever-changing culture, there are very few things that stay the same. The Bible, however, has stood the test of time and remains one of the cornerstone texts of world history and the narrative that has arguably had the most profound influence upon Western literature and the culture around us. Generations upon generations have also turned to the Bible for hope and direction. It is exciting that Hamilton County Schools’ 100-year-old Bible elective program, still the largest of its kind in the nation, continues to inform the scholarship, worldview, and often the life trajectories of youth in our public schools.
It is anticipated that over 5,000 students, representing approximately 20% of all students in grades 6-12 across the district, will complete an academically robust Bible elective course during the 2022-2023 academic year. This projection is a testimony to the dedication and expertise of the county’s Bible teachers, all of whom also serve as strong, positive role models and mentors for students. Bible in the Schools remains honored to be the avenue through which charitable community donations fully fund five different Bible elective courses in 32 participating public schools. Bible courses are enriching the educational experience of youth daily and equipping students with the tools they need, not only for a broad education, but also for a hope-filled future and a life reflective of healthier decision-making and responsible citizenship."
